IABC Brazos Valley Annual Holiday Party

Join us for an evening of wintry cheer and general merriment on December 10 at the IABC Brazos Valley Annual Holiday Party.  Donna Malak has graciously opened her home this year to host the chapter’s annual holiday gathering, and we’d like for you to join us as we cap off another great year with some tasty hors d’oeuvres and yuletide networking.

This year’s event is FREE for all current IABC Brazos Valley members and one guest.  Think of it as our little gift to you.

The registration deadline is December 1.  We hope that you can join us!  The more the merrier, but we need to make sure there’s enough eggnog to go around.

Terri Ammerman: The Media Minefield

Is the media working its way down your departmental phone list to find someone to interview?  Having trouble preparing your experts for interviews with the media?

Join us for our November professional development meeting as Terri Ammerman of The Ammerman Experience shares tools with you to help you navigate the media minefield.  She’ll explain to you the stages of a crisis and why you must approach every crisis with two goals in mind – presenting your company as a credible source of information and putting a caring and compassionate face on the name of your company.

In this presentation, Terri will help you interact with the media efficiently from that first phone call or e-mail. She will mentor you in her specialty: prepping your experts so their language is right for the audience, which would be a sixth-grade reading level for an article in a daily newspaper to the much higher level allowed in a professional journal. She will advise when you should decline a media request and tell how to deal with multiple requests, so that the message is consistent and clear — and so there’s no duplicated effort from you and your staff.

Terri Ammerman is President and Chief Executive Officer of The Ammerman Experience, a 37 year old, international firm that prepares people for critical communications environments.  In her almost 30 years with The Ammerman Experience, she has provided training all over the United States as well as in Venezuela, Iceland, Brazil, Guatemala and Japan.  Her firm’s client list represents over 45 different countries.

Terri has interviewed or trained well over 10,000 executives.  She has personally worked with the CEO’s of several of the largest corporations in the world.
