Jason D. Cook serves as Vice President of Marketing & Communications for Texas A&M University, recognized as one of the top public institutions in the United States with more than 49,000 students and research expenditures of nearly $700 million. In this role, Cook directs institutional branding and marketing, collegiate licensing, media relations, internal communications and external affairs while leading Texas A&M’s Division of Marketing & Communications.
From 2010-11, Cook also served in a dual capacity as Chief Communications Officer for The Texas A&M University System, one of the largest such entities in higher education with 11 universities, a comprehensive health science center and seven state agencies.
Prior to joining the University’s leadership team in February 2008, Cook served as the Director of Communications & Marketing for Texas A&M AgriLife, as Director of Public Relations and Marketing for the Texas Engineering Extension Service (TEEX, another state agency under the A&M System), as Assistant Vice President of Media and Communications for Birmingham, Ala.-based HealthSouth Corporation and at Mississippi State University. Cook earned his accreditation in public relations from the Public Relations Society of America in 2000.
