Background

The International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) is a not-for-profit international network of professionals committed to improving the effectiveness of organizations through strategic interactive and integrated business communication management. IABC boasts more than 13,000 communicators in more than 52 countries.

Founded in 1981, IABC/Brazos Valley conducts its meetings in the sister cities of Bryan and College Station, Texas. Chapter members are employed by businesses, government, and educational and non-profit organizations. IABC/BV was honored as the International Small Chapter of the Year for 1989, 1990, 1991, 1995, 1996 and 2002, and the International Chapter of the Year for 1991, 1993 and 2003. The Brazos Valley is located in southeast Texas, and includes parts of seven counties along the Brazos River. Broadly speaking, we’re southeast of Waco, northwest of Houston, and east of Austin.

Other Texas IABC chapters are in Houston, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Dallas and Austin. Texas is part of IABC’s Southern Region (website), which also includes chapters in as far west as Arizona and as far east as Florida. Across the United States, you’ll find IABC chapters in the major cities of nearly every state. International chapters are in Hong Kong, Malaysia, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Southern Africa and the United Kingdom.
